Regular Appointments
Orthodontic treatment involves a significant amount of time and commitment from the patient, their family, and our orthodontic team.
Appointments will vary during the active phase of treatment. The majority of appointments will be short and last approximately 15 minutes.
However, there will also be the need for several appointments that will last for 30 minutes or more. These appointments are infrequent and
necessary for your treatment progression.
In order to provide the best quality of care possible, we have designed our schedule to allow us both the structure and flexibility needed to obtain
our orthodontic goals. In so doing, we will be more than happy to work with you and your schedule to achieve your appointment objective. It is
important to us that our patients understand our appointment policy.
Short Appointments
The majority of appointments for routine adjustments, progress checks, and retainer checks will be scheduled before and after school hours. They are
usually scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance and will last approximately 15 minutes.
Longer Appointments
- Appointments requiring a time frame of 30 minutes or longer will be scheduled in the late morning or early afternoon.
- We will do our best to work around a lunch period, class, or activity to allow our patients the best options available.
- We can provide a school or work excuse if needed when these appointments occur.
Emergency Appointments
- Please call our office if you have any problems or concerns.
- Problems are anything that pokes, scratches, cuts, or causes pain that you cannot take care of yourself.
- Broken brackets and appliances also need to be repaired as soon as possible.
- See our braces diagram to determine the part of your braces that is causing the problem. This will help significantly
when calling our office for assistance.
Missed/Cancelled Appointments
- If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please call our office as soon as you can to reschedule. It is important to keep your
appointments as consistent as possible. Failure to do so can result in the delay of your treatment progress.
- Appointments can also be requested through our website. Click on
appointment request to send your request via email.
Arriving Late for Appointments
- If unforeseen problems or emergencies cause you to be late for your appointment, please call our office and explain your situation.
- In fairness to other patients who arrive on time, we may not be able to see you right away.
- If the schedule allows we may be able to see you later the same day. If not, we may have to reschedule your appointment.
In Consideration of Others
- We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us.
- If you or your child is too sick to go to work or school or if you are sick with anything contagious, please call our office to reschedule
your appointment.
Appointment Reminders
- Our office provides email appointment reminders 2 days before your scheduled appointment.
- You also have the option to check your appointment date and time by using this website.
Patients must register first before accessing this information.
- In the event of power outages or computer problems, we recommend keeping your appointment reminder slip.
